Sample Project Flow: Brief & Focused Consulting Engagement

Introduction & Scoping
We’ll first need to understand the context of your organization and the goals you’re trying to achieve. For a short-term consulting engagement, there may be one key problem or question you’re seeking help to solve. We’ll decide together on a scope of work that will enable Aruku to do just that.

Discovery & Research
In the next step we’ll gather any data or supporting information needed to move forward with the work. This stage of the engagement may also require some research in order to gather any other relevant data required to solve the problem at hand.

Develop Recommendations
We then move forward to the meat of the engagement: analyzing the problem in appropriate depth in order to provide the most suitable recommendations. Recommendations may include an experimental design, an analytical methodology, or a roadmap for growing your data team, for example.

Communicate & Discuss Recommendation(s)
The most important stage of the engagement, of course, is communicating the recommendations and findings, so that you not only understand the conclusions that are made, but also the steps taken to reach them.

Brief & Focused

Brief engagements requiring 5 hours or less to complete, including time for meetings and any other communication. This type of engagement is very useful for high level recommendations and advice, a review of a current methodology or general advice on methodology selection, or another area of narrow focus.

A short-term, hourly consulting rate of $150/hour is applied. Options for fixed price projects may be negotiated in some cases.

Data Team Roadmapping

A mid-term consulting engagement spanning 10-20 hours on average which may include strategic planning, assessment of options, and other roadmapping activities for growing your organization’s data and analytics capabilities.

Data science is the process of asking and answering questions, over and over, with the fundamental goal of discovering true things about whatever real-world situation or events your data represents. This ability becomes crucial when the size or complexity of the data makes it difficult - if not impossible - to tease out truth from just . . . noise.

Our most extensive experience is in healthcare (include biotech and pharma) - with projects involving operations analysis, market forecasting, cost modeling, outcomes modeling, research, and more. In addition, we’ve had multiple clients in the real estate industry (consumer-facing as well as investment real estate companies). Data Team Roadmapping involves designing a strategic plan for assessing and developing data and analytics related resources, processes and use cases within an organization. Basically, it means creating a ‘roadmap’ to get your organization’s data science and analytics capabilities from where they are today, to where you envision them being tomorrow.

Aruku Analysis is able to take specific steps to ensure data privacy and security for cases in which it is of particular concern. Upon request, we will use the Sookasa platform which integrates with Dropbox for secure, encrypted file sharing and storage. Sookasa is HIPAA, FERPA, PCI DSS, FINRA, and GLBA compliant. We ar also happy to sign NDAs prior to starting work, if required.
